EB3 - Registered Nurses

Program Overview

  • EB-3 Registered Nurse (RN) is to satisfy the labor market demand for RN in the United States (US), the US government offers an opportunity for eligible to work and immigrate to the US under the EB-3 Immigrant Visa Program.
  • The primary applicant’s spouse as well as any children below the age of 21 are also eligible to immigrate to US. One primary applicant can obtain a green card for every member of his/her family.
  • The applicant must:
    1. Age 18 or above with no criminal record
    2. Hold a local RN license
    3. Hold a bachelor degree of Nursing
    4. Have at least two years of bedside experiences
    5. English Proficiency (IELTS-Academic overall 6.5; Speaking 7.0)
    6. Pass NCLEX
  • Processing time could be taken up to approximately 1 year and half or more. Processing time varies and solely depends on the US government.

Program Requirements

The applicant must:

  1. Age 18 or above with no criminal record
  2. Hold a local RN license
  3. Hold a bachelor degree of Nursing
  4. Have at least two years of bedside experiences
  5. English Proficiency (IELTS-Academic overall 6.5; Speaking 7.0)
  6. Pass NCLEX

Application Process

Applicants submits required documents (Resume, passport, NCLEX passing letter and IELTS passing report if applicable)

EB-3 RN could be divided by four large procedures:

  1. Department of Labor (DOL) & U.S Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS)

The employer applies for Schedule A designation by submitting an application for permanent labor certification to USCIS in conjunction with the petition.

  1. Department of State (DOS)

Once I-140 Application is approved and one’s priority date (presented in the I-140 approval notice) becomes current, the petition will move to the Department of State (DOS) and National Visa Center (NVC) will issue a Visa Fee Invoice to the applicant. Then, the applicant can pay the visa fees through online and start online DS-260 application (Personal information, Family Information, U.S entry history, Work/Employment History etc).

  1. US Consulate and Embassy

After online DS-260 application and required civil documents are submitted, the immigrant petition will be forwarded to a U.S consulate located the foreign immigrant applicant’s country. The interview usually scheduled within a month from the notice issuance. At the same time, Visa screen will need to be done for all healthcare professional before working in the US.
