Nominee Program
(PNP)

Program Overview

The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) are a way for each province to select ideal candidates to match to their economic needs. Most PNP pathways require some connection to the province, such as:

  • A job offer from an employer in that province
  • A post-secondary education program completed in the province, or
  • Work experience completed in the province. If you have some connection to a province in Canada, a PNP pathway could be a good way for you to immigrate! We have experience spanning Canada’s PNP pathways, from British Columbia’s BC PNP all the way to Prince Edward Island’s PEI PNP, and in between. Feel free to reach out, and we can assess your suitability for one of Canada’s PNP pathways.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the PNP, you generally must

  • Have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of a province or territory.
  • Intend to live in the province or territory that nominates you.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the PNP stream you are applying under.

Each province and territory has its own criteria and streams, which may target

  • Skilled workers and semi-skilled workers
  • International students and graduates
  • Entrepreneurs and investors

Application process

Option 1: Through Express Entry

  1. Check your eligibility for both the PNP and one of the federal Express Entry programs.
  2. Get a provincial nomination:
    • Contact the province or territory directly and apply for a nomination, or
    • Create an Express Entry profile and indicate the provinces and territories you are interested in.
    • If you receive a Notification of Interest, apply to that province or territory.
  3. Update your Express Entry profile if nominated. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to your profile, significantly increasing your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
  4. Apply for permanent residence online through Express Entry if invited.

Option 2: Non-Express Entry Process

  1. Check your eligibility for the PNP stream you want to apply under.
  2. Apply to the province or territory for a nomination.
  3. Apply for permanent residence directly to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) once you receive a nomination.

Program advantages

  • A pathway to permanent residence for workers and entrepreneurs.
  • Opportunities for people with diverse skills and backgrounds.
  • Faster processing in some streams compared to other programs.
  • A chance to settle in a province or territory that matches your lifestyle and career goals.
