Covid-19 Travel Restrictions Removed

As of October 1, 2022, the Government of Canada removed all Covid-19 public health travel measures including entry restrictions, masking, testing and quarantine and self-isolation requirements for people travelling to Canada. Also, people no longer have to use the ArriveCAN app or website for entering Canada.

Transport Canada, which is responsible for domestic air and rail travel, also removed health checks and masking requirements. Though wearing masks on domestic public transportation is still strongly recommended.

Covid-19 precautions for cruise ships have also been lifted. Guests on cruise ships in Canada no longer have to do pre-boarding tests, be vaccinated or use the ArriveCAN app or website.

Covid-19 is a serious communicable disease that continues to threaten people worldwide, and the Government of Canada urges people to update their Covid-19 vaccines and boosters, wear a mask in public and get a Covid-19 test when feeling ill, and self-isolate if positive. All people travelling to Canada or within Canada should be aware of and follow provincial Covid-19 guidelines and public health measures. People travelling outside of Canada also need to be informed and prepared for international requirements regarding Covid-19.
